ಸದಾ ನಗು ಮೊಗದ ಡಿ.ವಿ.ಸದಾನಂದ ಗೌಡ ಅವರು ಸಂಸದರಾದ ಬಳಿಕ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಲೋಕಸಭಾ  ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ  ಜನರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ಜನರ ಒಳಿತಿಗಾಗಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಪರಿಹಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಟವನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸಂಸತ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಡಿ ಉದ್ಯಮ , ರೈಲು ದಾರಿ, ಅಂಗನವಾಡಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತೆಯರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು, ಕಾಫಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅಡಿಕೆ ಬೆಳೆಗಾರರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ , ದೂರವಾಣಿ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ, ತುಳು ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ೮ನೇ ಪರಿಚ್ಚೇಧಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿಸುವುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕಾ ಬಂದರು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ , ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿಸುವುದು, ಅರಣ್ಯ ಭೂಮಿ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹತ್ತು ಹಲವು ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗಂಭೀರ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಗೌಡರು.
ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ೨೦೦೪-೦೫ರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟಾದ ಸಿಇಟಿ ಬಿಕ್ಕಟ್ಟು ನಿವಾರಣೆಗೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಹಸ್ತಕ್ಷೇಪಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹಾಗು ೨೦೦೫ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕರಾವಳಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ವಿವಿಧ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ನೆರೆಹಾವಳಿ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಪರಿಹಾರಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಷಣ ೧೦೦ ಕೋಟಿ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಶೂನ್ಯ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗೌಡರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಒತ್ತಾಯ ಸ್ಮರಣೀಯ. (more…)

MANGALORE: A serious concern was expressed over the uncontrolled expansion of the area under areca nut cultivation in the two-day conference on the “future of areca nut” here on Saturday.

Echoing the sentiments of a majority of people involved in areca nut trade was D. Chandrashekar Chowta, a progressive farmer from Manjeshwar, Kerala, who sought measures to restrict its cultivation to the areas which were traditionally known for it.

Arecanut Research and Development Foundation, Mangalore, is hosting the conference which will conclude on Sunday. (more…)

Mangalore, Aug 9 To encourage research and development activities in arecanut sector, the Karnataka Government has announced Rs 2 crore for the Mangalore-based Arecanut Research and Development Foundation (ARDF).

Addressing the delegates at the international conference on the ‘future of arecanut’, organised by ARDF in Mangalore on Saturday, Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa, Karnataka Chief Minister, said ARDF has been carrying out research activities on the alternative and medicinal uses of arecanut. The ARDF, which demanded Rs 5 crore for the research activities from the Karnataka Government, will be sanctioned Rs 2 crore, he said. (more…)

Protest Against Negligent Rail Officials

Mangalore, Nov 24: A mass agitation has been organized by BJP at the city central and city junction railway stations on Saturday, November 24, to protest against the delay of Mangalore-Bangalore passenger train re-introduction.

Thousands of activists rushed into the railway station and stopped the trains which start its journey from here. It must be noted here that BJP activists from all parts of the district have been participating in this protest.
Moreover the protestors also stopped the goods trains at the Kankanady city junction railway station and shouted slogans against the railway department and union government. (more…)

Sangh Parivar says there is no change in Datta Mala Abhiyana schedule

DV Sadananda Gowda CHIKMAGALUR: Hundreds of the Sangh Parivar activists, including women, courted arrest here on Tuesday when they attempted to take out a procession defying a ban imposed by Deputy Commissioner Nilaya Mitash under Section 35(3) of the Karnataka Police Act.
The procession, which was named “Nagara Sankeerthana Yatra”, was organised by the Bajrang Dal and the Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on the eve of the Datta Mala Abhiyana scheduled to be held at Datta Peeta atop Bababudangiri hills on Wednesday.
After the procession moved for 100 metres, it was stopped by the police who were accompanied by a special executive magistrate. The leaders in the procession were told that they were defying ban orders and would be arrested if they did not disperse.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including its State unit president D.V. Sadananda Gowda, argued with the police and sought permission for 30 minutes to complete the procession. Assuring them that the procession would be peaceful, they urged the officials to use their discretionary powers. (more…)

MP demands higher minimum support price for arecanut

PUTTUR: The Government should increase the minimum support price for arecanut under the market intervention scheme as the production cost has gone up steeply, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, Mangalore MP, said here on Tuesday.

He was addressing a gathering at a function organised by Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative Ltd. (CAMPCO) here to release its new products. (more…)
